October is National Anti-Bullying Month! Therefore, we will discuss all aspects of bullying: what a bully looks like, how not to be a bully, what to do if we see a bully and what to do if someone is bullying you. In the upper grades, we will also discuss cyber bullying and how to protect ourselves from being cyber bullied.
Red Ribbon Week is also celebrated during October! This year we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 27-31 by dressing up Monday through Thursday with the following themes:
Monday, Oct. 27 - RED DAY. Wear Red.
Tuesday, Oct. 28 - TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS. Wear your favorite team jersey or shirt.
Wednesday, Oct. 29 - STOMP OUT DRUGS. Wear your favorite boots.
Thursday, Oct. 30 - PUT A CAP ON DRUGS. Wear your favorite hat.
Friday is Halloween so the students will receive a sticker that says "Say Boo to Drugs!".
In counseling classes that week, I will focus the topics on making healthy and good choices for grades K-3 and drug awareness for grades 4-5.
